RAGNAR VEGAS!!

Had the best time last weekend participating in my 2nd Ragnar Relay. This one was in vegas and my team, Sweatin' with the Divas, rocked! Can't even begin to put into words how amazing the whole weekend was. We pushed ourselves mentally, physically, and emotionally and we had each other supporting and encouraging the whole way. We danced in the desert with new friends, ran, ran, and ran some more, shouted, screamed, tried to sleep a little over the 2 days...exhausting but AMAZING! My friend and fellow diva Ali puts it best on her blog and she has some PHENOMENAL photos as does my girl Marsha. Here are links to their blogs... http://degraffblog.blogspot.com/ and http://lueck-family.blogspot.com/

Amanda and I on our way to Vegas!

Part of our sweet van decor, i'm getting ready to run my first leg...

Todd and Heather making their first exchange....and she's off..what a tough chika she is!

So much respect for all the divas and Todd! Would run it again in a heartbeat with all of you if we could!

dragonflies and lizards

The kids found a dragonfly in the pool and Ethan rescued it, he was so proud. Its wings were damaged so it was letting the kids "hold" it. They loved being that close to such a cool insect. I thought it was really neat too, until my friend told me that they can bite you, and it hurts....thankful we had no such incidents..just enjoyed a magnificent insect up close.

A few days later, Ethan caught a lizard and decided he was going to keep it for a pet. He made a habitat for it in an ice chest, caught flies to feed it, was really taking care of it. After a couple days, and some encouragement from his brothers, he decided letting it(he gave the lizard a name, but I can't remember right now)be free was the best choice. It was a hard choice for him but alteast we took some pics to remember it by!

Happy Birthday Weston!!!

Today Weston turned 10!!! My first baby is a double digit, a whole decade! It has been fun to reflect back on the moment I became a mother, the day my whole world changed for the better. Weston has brought so much joy and love, taught me so much, challenged me, and blessed our lives everyday. I'm amazed and thankful that my Heavenly Father sent Weston to our family!

it's official!

Ok, I've been keeping real quiet about this because i didn't want to jinx anything, but now that it's official i'll shout it out..an you know how loud i can be! We are HOMEOWNERS now!!! We now own a great house in Lincoln, CA. For those that know the area, (and the ward breakdown), we decided on a house in Glenmoor, so we'll be in 3rd ward. July 7th is our move in date, previous owners needed a little more time to move, and although it messes our schedule up a bit, oh well. It'll all work out in the end. So the house has a great pool, which we are so looking forward to with these hot summers! We'd love to have you over...so come see us! No pics to post at this time because all of them have the other owners stuff in them and it just doesn't feel like mine yet. Once we get there I'll take some new pics for the benefit of those who can't get over to see us as easily. I'm sure you're holding your breath! :)
OOh, can't wait for all the fun projects...glad i have my sis to help me decorate!

Run. Drive. Sleep? Repeat.

So last weekend I just participated in one of the most fun, crazy, challenging, fullfilling, exhausting things ever! A Ragnar Relay! What is that you ask...12 man team(we had 11 girls, 1 guy), each running 3 legs of a 188 mile race from Santa Barbara to Laguna Beach, over a 2 day period. It was soooo fun! I've been training since January for it and lovin it. I was the 12th man, so I ran leg 12, 7 miles, at about 4 pm , 24, 6 miles at 3 am, yes AM, and 36 which was 3 miles to the finish line at 3 pm on day 2, for a total of 16 miles. I also happened to have the legs with A LOT of hills so it felt like more, but it was so fun! I would totally do it again! They have them all over the US,(http://www.ragnarrelay.com/) so if anyone is interested, let me know! This is the first time they did LA and there were a few logistical problems, so hopefully they work it out and can do it again next year. I'd be interested in doing the Utah or Washington one, too.
Mike was able to be home with the kids and they all enjoyed their time together. It was a nice break for mom and FROM mom! They ordered out food all weekend, played video games and computer games all day,(and night), built a pinewood derby car, the boys got in lots of wrestling time and mylie got cuddle time, and i even came home to a clean house! I think I should go away more often!
All in all it was WIN-WIN for everyone.

This was the day before the race on our way to Santa Barbara, that's why we all still look so happy!!! We don't know quite what we were getting ourselves into!

Morning of the race, leaving the hotel!! So excited!!

WE SURVIVED!! Everyone did great!

The princess is 2!

Mylie turned 2 yesterday! Time has flown by. She is so much fun and we love having her girly influence in the family, although I think the boy influence is a little stronger on her. She is so tough, beautiful, funny, smart, sassy, and LOVES to be outside! HAPPY BIRTHDAY PRINCESS!
